Who runs this site
pandyaHomeLab is a personal, non-commercial portfolio of machine-learning demos run by Archit Pandya, including cricstat, a cricket-statistics project. For anything about your data, email [email protected].
What is collected
| What | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| Server log: your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time | Keeping the site running and blocking abuse | About 3 months |
| Visit statistics: pages viewed, time on page, how far you scrolled, whether you ran a demo or used the feedback card (saw it, liked, opened the comment form), country, device type (from screen width), browser language, the site that linked you here, and a hash of your IP address | Seeing which pages and demos are useful | 13 months, then deleted |
| Likes and comments you choose to send, with the name you enter (optional) | Feedback on the demos. Comments are read by me and are not published on the site. | Until deleted. After 13 months the IP hash is removed from them. |
The IP hash is a one-way scrambled code. It lets me count a returning visitor once without storing the address itself.
What is not collected
- No cookies of any kind.
- No advertising, analytics or social-media scripts from other companies.
- No accounts, no email sign-ups, no payment details.
- Nothing you type into a demo is stored, apart from counting that the demo was run. One exception: a player search on the cricstat pages is part of the page address, so the words you search for appear in the server log and visit statistics like any other address.
Storage in your browser
phl:visitin session storage: a random ID that groups the pages of one visit. Your browser deletes it when you close the tab.phl:liked:…in local storage: remembers that you liked a page, so the button stays "Liked". Clear your browser's site data to remove it.cricstat:followin local storage: the team you chose to follow on the cricstat pages. It is never sent to the server. Clear your browser's site data to remove it.
Who else handles the data
The site runs on my own server at home. Traffic passes through Cloudflare, which protects and delivers the site, and email sent to the address above is forwarded by Cloudflare to my inbox. Nobody else receives the data, and it is never sold.
Why this is allowed
Where data-protection law such as the EU/UK GDPR applies, the basis is legitimate interest: running a secure site and understanding, in aggregate, how the demos are used. The data is kept to the minimum needed for that.
Your choices
- Email [email protected] to ask what is held about you, or to have your comments, likes or visit data deleted. Anyone can ask, wherever you live. Mention the date and page of your visit so I can find it.
- Block JavaScript for this site and no visit statistics are recorded at all.
- If you are in the EU or UK and are unhappy with the answer, you can complain to your data-protection authority.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes too.
